Screen edge hook strips are also referred to as screen clamping strips or formed clamping edges. This type of edge treatment allows a vibrating screen to be clamped under tension to the vibrating screen deck. Several types of hook strips are available.

      Woven Wire Screen Hook Strips

Most industrial screening operations utilize a Vibrating Deck

Screens for classifying, sizing, straining, sieving, are typically secured by clamping rails that apply tension across the screening surface. The tension is applied through edge treatments on the woven wire cloth screen panel commonly referred to as "hooks" , "hook strips" or "hooking strips".

Vibrating Deck Screens are available with any style of edge preparation or hook strip, ready for field installation upon delivery.

Proper screen tension is crucial for effective screening and longer screen life. Our edge preparations fit the deck properly for easy screen installation and tensioning.

Banded Hook edges increase strength (prevent flattening) and eliminate mesh pull-out on fine wire mesh or high tension screens.

This is the standard woven wire cloth sand & gravel screen hook treatment utilized on 5/16" and larger wire diameters.

Plain Hooked Edge

Without  Reinforcing, Typically provided on screens of 5/16" and larger wire diameters. Edges are annealed before forming to eliminate cracking and breakage.

Heavy Duty screening operations such as aggregate sizing, gravel sizing and granite screening frequently utilize the reinforced formed screen edge preparations.     Inside Reinforced Formed Edge

This hook strip is utilized for screens 5/16" and larger wire diameters. Edges are annealed before forming to eliminate cracking and breakage.

Reinforced screen edge treatment increases screen life.

    Reinforced Shroud Banded Edge

Provided as standard on screens up to 1/4" wire diameter. Standard shrouding is 16 gauge with other thickness' available on request.

Double Folded Reinforced Banded Screen Hook

Double Folded Reinforced Shroud Banded Edge

This treatment eliminates screen pull-out on screens woven of smaller wire diameters. Standard shrouding is 20 gauge with other thickness' available on request.

Double Reinforced Shrouded Screen Hook

Double Reinforced Shroud Banded Edge

This treatment also eliminates screen pull-out on finer wire sizes. It includes a internal metal insert for reinforcement. Standard shrouding is 20 gauge with other thickness' available on request.

End Tension Hook

End Tension Reinforced Shroud Banded Edge

Specially reinforced to prevent pull-out under extreme screen tensioning. Also available in Double Reinforced Style.

Custom Screen Clamping Hook Dimensions

When ordering screen edge preparations, give vertical height of hook (H) and angle of formed edge (A).

Standard hook length (L) is 1".

Standard hook height (H) is 3/4".

Standard angle is 45° - 65°.
